The piece was purchased through B. Altman & Co., a luxury department store founded in 1865 by Benjamin Altman. Its flagship store on Fifth Avenue and 34th Street in New York City operated from 1906 until 1989, making this jacket part of the company’s golden era. The original Altman & Co. label is still present inside the collar, confirming its provenance.
