Very rare shoes from the late Rococo period, ca. 1780-1790. Provenance: France. Material: ribbed silk, silk bows, white leather kid (inside), leather covered heels, brown leather inside sole, leather outside sole. Ribbons in blue, (faded) red and white - the color of the French Revolution in the 18th century. Maybe the shoes are from this period. The French Revolution (French: Révolution française) was a period of far-reaching social and political upheaval in France that lasted from 1789 until 1799, and was partially carried forward by Napoleon during the later expansion of the French Empire. Condition: Excellent taking in consideration age and sensibility of the materials Very rare to find! A museum piece!
