Rare wedding hood from 1850. Worn by Harriet Ann Dickinson at her wedding to John Evans on September 12, 1850. The hood is a dream of white silk, white and cream tulle and white fabric flowers and wax buds. It is interesting to note that the hair wreath of flowers, leaves and tulle could be worn without the hood. Perhaps the bride wore only this hoop on her wedding day. From this point of view, this wedding confection consists of a hood and a hoop. The hood is from the collection of Mary Elizabeth Stuart Harley (1925-2019). In very good condition. Minor tears to the tulle. Decoration is not included.
