Elegant ladies straw hat, ca. 1899. Origin: England. Inside the gold-colored imprint: By Royal Warrants To Her Majesty THE QUEEN And The Royal Family * Robert Heath * 37 & 39 Knigthsbridge, S.W. By the Queen is meant Queen Victoria, who died in 1901. So the hat must have been made and worn before that. It is a typical hat for a going out or street dress. It is decorated with a black silk ribbon. Very well preserved.
