Antique-Gown

An extremely rare so-called Gibson Girl hat, ca. 1890, origin: America. The hat is made of filigree straw, complemented with a brown velvet ribbon, lined on the inside with light-coloured cotton fabric and decorated with fruit. Black and red cherries, together with the corresponding leaves and tendrils, give the hat a unique look. In good to very good condition. Inner lining somewhat foxed. Hats of this type were worn on the high topped hairstyle.
