Rare Georgian Calash Bonnet from around 1790. Designed to protect women's large 18th century hairstyles from the elements. It is collapsible and made of silk. Due to its age it has got the usual age holes, marks and rips. All that said though this bonnet is still is reasonable condition for its age, over 225 years old. The ribbon where you tied it under the chin is the worst part of the bonnet. As ribbon declines over time. This bonnet is in good condition and would make a great display. A great piece to add to your antique collection. The decoration is not included.
