A 19th Century Folding Parasol, ca. 1860. The cover made of extremely fine Bedford Maltese lace, insertion panels with raised wheatears enclosing triangular panels worked in squares. A scalloped border features circles alternating with ovals filled with wheatears. Lined in modern dark ginger fabric which offsets the design. The lower section of the bone shaft is carved with sheaves of corn, and flowers (roses). Very good to excellent condition. Slight chip to the top of the turned finial.
