A Mid-19th Century Folding Parasol, ca. 1850. The very fine black lace cover of fine Chantilly of elaborate design, lined in the original cream silk. The slim shaft, of bone, is classically carved along the lower section, ending with a curl. The floral lace with scalloped edge extends past the cream silk. The design, of floral sprays, is bordered with delicately worked diamonds, themselves bordered with flowers and leaves. The metal frame bears a tiny paper label right at the top, printed with "J.B. Fensterer Parapluie Fabrik, München Schwabinger Strasse 44". Very good condition, save for light staining to the inside of the cream silk.
