A beautiful and rare scarf from the Biedermeier period, woven from silk batiste. Batiste (French) is a very fine-threaded, lightly woven, lightweight fabric that is mainly woven from cotton and linen, but can also be woven from silk. Wide gold-colored interwoven stripes that become narrower towards the middle of the scarf. Silk fringes. In good to very good condition. A few tiny holes. Subtle signs of age and wear.
Dimensions: ~ 62 x 240 cm (without fringes)
