Antique paisley scarf from the bustle dress period, ca. 1870-1880. The scarf is printed, not woven. Scarves of this kind were considered a status symbol and testified to wealth. Less wealthy women wore printed scarves. Fringes at the short ends. The scarf is very well preserved. On the back (not on the front side) lighter discolorations.
