Men’s waistcoat or vest from the mid-19th century. These fancy waistcoats were so grand. It is a silk patterned and cut velvet with tan cotton back and lining. The front is double breasted with 6 black glass buttons and a large collar and lapel. The welt pocket are wide, and there is chest padding. The back has a matching belt with metal buckle. Very Good. The velvet front is great, while the back and front lining have moisture stains as shown. There are several hand sewn repairs to the back waist edge. The decoration is not included.
