Tauentzienstrasse (in the coat in the old spelling) is a centrally located in the city of Berlin, about 500 meters long shopping street in the districts of Charlottenburg and Schöneberg. Conceived and named in the 1860s and laid out around 1890, it was still a residential street at the time of its creation, but began its evolution into a commercial street with the construction of KaDeWe in 1907. In the 1920s it was one of the most famous shopping streets in Germany. Schmidt had his fashion house in this street.
