A footman's livery from the Royal Hanoverian household, late 19th century, comprising: a magnificent scarlet wool frock coat with the gilt brass buttons engraved with Kingly crowns, with matching black waistcoat edged in gold braid, and red plush breeches. Provenance: Sotheby's Hanover auction, October 2005. Fabulous Royal household buttons are complete. Waistcoat, coat and plush breeches are in good to very good condition. A few signs of wear.
The set also includes the life-size male mannequin from Belgium, ca. 1925. The original wax head has been restored. One area with the serial number and the lettering ‘Brussels’ has been preserved in its original condition. The doll stands on a metal plate. A metal pin is inserted into one leg so that the doll stands very securely. Movable arms and hands. Legs made of plaster (?). The body is covered with beige fabric. Movable in the stomach area. In very good condition. Dolls of this type have become very rare.
