Antique-Gown

Beautiful English tailoring from the end of the 18th century. The men's suit is made of fine brown wool. It consists of a coat and waistcoat. The ensemble also includes a very rare wig bag.

The coat is curved at the front and decorated with eight cut steel buttons. Slightly curved high collar. Brown cord stripes on the chest, probably intended to resemble buttonholes. The jacket is fastened with hooks and eyelets. Two pockets, which are also decorated with buttons made of cut steel. The same buttons can also be found on the cuffs of the long sleeves and in the walking slit area at the back. Lined with silk on the inside. In excellent condition. One small hole in the collar (on the side). Brooch and scarf are not included.

Men's silk gilet. This fashion, which was only worn in the finest circles, still enchants today with its preciousness, the imagination of its colourful designs and the perfection of its execution. The embroidery, which is in a brown-green-pink tone, is a beautiful floral motif. Excellently preserved. The straps on the back, which are needed to adjust the size, are no longer present.

A particularly beautiful and rare speciality is the black silk wig bag with rosette, which is attached to the neck of the coat. In very good to excellent condition.
