Extremely rare jabot from the Empire period, ca. 1810. Jabot is a term for various items of clothing worn on the chest or neck. This one was worn by men. One part was fastened under the high stand-up collar with a cord, the other was tucked under the vest. The jabot is slightly ruffled and embroidered in the middle. In very good condition. One small open seam. The binding cord is knotted on one side and no longer present on the other.
