With the beginning of the 19th century, men's fashion became boring. Black was the dominant colour as the colourful embroideries disappeared. The only difference between the fashion epochs was the different length and cut of the frock coats. Accessories for men became and remained modern. However, in order to add a little colour to the man's appearance, colourful waistcoats were often used.
This one is made of blue velvet. Small buttons/ornamental buttons and beautiful embroideries make the vest a real eye-catcher. The vest must have been loved, because it shows some signs of wear. Very rare to find. Origin: Germany.
