Rare men's shirt from the Biedermeier period, dated 1839, with the owner's monogram and the year written in ink on the side of the fabric. High stand-up collar, closed with buttons. Breast frills. Long sleeves with cuffs designed to be fastened with cuff buttons. Many sections with small pleats; various darts. A very elaborately crafted antique shirt. 2-3 stains, one hole on the back (the area of the shirt that is tucked into the pants). Cleaned condition. A few repaired areas, especially in the area of the ruffles; a few rubbed areas, especially in the neck and shoulder area; a few thinner areas in the cotton. It's a miracle that the shirt is still there at all. Men's shirts in particular were worn and then disposed of. This one has survived the ages. The bandage and brooch are not included (they are more recent).
