Table bust or mannequin, made in the German Façon, ca. 1895. Mannequins of this kind were often presented in the shop window of large fashion salons. They were used for the presentation of tops/bodices, blouses and corsets. They were - thanks to the strongly shortened foot - much smaller than the usual tailor's dummies. So they could also decorate the "second level" in the shop windows. Round wooden foot with three short legs. Beautiful knob and beautiful wooden locking screw. The torso covered with a brown fabric, indicated arms. Well preserved. The chest is slightly dented, missing parts in the fabric, (inactive) wormholes in the wood of the foot. Nevertheless: very rare and wonderfully suitable for decorating your own home.
