These women's nightgown originated from the House of Hesse-Darmstadt. Alix of Hesse-Darmstadt - in full Her Grand Duchess Highness Princess Alix Viktoria Helene Luise Beatrix of Hesse and by Rhine - (* June 6, 1872 in the New Palace, Darmstadt, Grand Duchy of Hesse; † 17. July 1918 in Ekaterinburg) was grand duchess princess of Hesse-Darmstadt and, through her marriage (1894) to the future Emperor Nicholas II, as Alexandra Fedorovna (Russian Александра Фёдоровна), the last empress of Russia. The Hessian family occasionally traveled to Russia to visit relatives. On one of these trips, these nightgown (and other parts) were also purchased in Moscow and probably subsequently personalized (embroidered monogram). The underwear bears the label of: Vladimir Loenvisson - Moscou. The writing is not in Cyrillic because the noble ladies did not know Russian. Very good to excellent condition. The decoration is not included.
