Graphoscope, 19th Century
This lacquered stereo graphoscope, probably Dutch or German, was used in mid to late 1800′s in parlors to entertain. Large round magnifying glass allows in detail view of photographs , tintypes, ambrotypes, cabinet cards and text. Cleverly folds into one small box. Very good overall condition, with minor imperfections, and expected wear from age and use. One metal edge is missing. Larger edition. Very rare to find in this size. Part of the lot is an original Photography from Germany.
