It is the time of Napoleon's reign in France. And it is the time when the ladies - freed from the heavy dresses of the rococo period - wore airy dresses made of muslin. These unique fans date from this period. One is dated: 1812. They are made of silk and embroidered with sequins and metal pins. On the back without embroidery. Handle made of wood and bone. On the front side - probably from one of the few fashion magazines of that time - are two colored leaves. For the age: very well preserved, even if almost all sequins and some embroidery has been lost in the course of the last 210 years.
