We've never had three dresses with the same label before. Three dresses at once, mind you. All three come from the same wearer. And they all come from the same department stores': Grant Brothers, Croydon, England. Croydon is a large town in south London, England.
The Grant department stores' was founded in 1877 by Richard Grant and his brother William Grant as a modest textile shop at No. 17 Croydon High Street (then No. 8). The family lived above the shop, but within a few years they had to expand the business. Within a few years, the department stores' had over 60 departments, including hairdressing salons, china, glass, ironmongery, restaurants and outside catering. Richard Grant died at the age of 75 in January 1924 and William Grant died on 3 March 1931 at the age of 79. The Grant family sold the business in 1983 and it closed for good in 1987.
