Black and brown leather lace-up boots, ca. 1905. The boots are made of a two-tone material mix of black wool cloth for the upper part and brown and black leather for the lower part of the shoe. This combination of cloth and leather was typical of the Edwardian era as it offered both durability and flexibility. The decorative punch work that adorns the leather gives the boots a touch of elegance and attention to detail that is characteristic of the period. Original laces. Half-round toe section. In very good condition. Rarely worn. Provenance: English shoe and boot collection.
These elegant boots are a wonderful example of early 20th century shoe fashion. The high-quality materials and fine workmanship indicate that they were made by an experienced shoemaker. Such lace-up boots were very popular at the time and were often worn on special occasions. The excellent condition of these boots suggests that they have been carefully stored and rarely used, which has led to their almost mint condition today.
