Gigantic Summer Hat, ca. 1909
Museum Quality!
The period around 1910 is characterized by the large, elegant ladies hats. Unfortunately, from this period have survived only a few pieces – for understandable reasons. More surprised and happy we were able to purchase two "pearls" for our private collection many years ago.
Off-white silk, richly decorated with (charming dusty) lace and a wreath of "Forget-me-nots". This creation is topped with natural-looking white roses, including rose petals. Very elegant! The hat – brim included – is lined with black velvet. The condition is very good. Only a few small holes – probably of hat pins. The price reflected the age, the absolutely rare size and the very good condition. The decoration is not included in the price.
