Antique, two-piece wedding dress, ca. 1867, origin: England. The wedding ensemble is made of cream-colored, slightly ribbed silk. Wide bell sleeves. The neckline, sleeves and hemline of the bodice are decorated with beautiful pleated appliqués. The silk of these appliqués stands out slightly in color. The top and skirt are decorated with small bows and wax flowers. The skirt fastens at the side. A small pocket is incorporated, probably for a watch or a smelling bottle. Train. The top is lined on the inside with glazed cotton, the skirt with cream-colored gauze. In very good condition. A few stains. Nothing dramatic. The decoration is not included. A unique dress from a period from which only a few wedding dresses have survived.
