Antique-Gown

Silk velvet bodice, 1880s. Origin: America. With smocked and pleated silk satin front panels, rolled collar, long sleeves, and front seed bead embellished button closures. Unlabeled. The overall condition is good to very good. There is a 2" frayed area on the front left collar. An impression has been made on the back left peplum near the hemline. There is a split in the back hemline facing. There is a small worn hole on the back left hem facing near center back. There is some light soiling throughout the lining with a few small spots near the interior neckline. The decoration is not included.
