Three piece wedding mixed lot from the Romantic Period / Biedermeier, ca. 1835. Provenance: Family Butler, Brooklyn, New York, USA.
The wedding or bridal gown is made of crème silk, with rich ornaments on the bodice, lace applications on skirt and bodice. Closes at the back with old hooks/eyes. Bell-like skirt shape. Measures: Bust: ~ 29”; Waist: ~22.4”; Length: ~ 52”. The condition is excellent for a dress of this era and delicate fabric! A few old stains all over the dress.
The vest or waistcoat is made of ivory silk with tan cotton back and lining. The front is breasted with 6 buttons. The back has three ribbons for closing. The condition is excellent for a vest of this era and delicate fabric! Old stains on the left side.
The slippers or shoes are made of cream silk. Original laces. Inside you can read: “left” and “right”. ”. The condition is excellent for silk slippers of this era and delicate fabric! Only some abrasion on the heel area.
The decoration is not included.
