One-piece rococo dress, made in the style of an "open robe". Origin: England. Made of printed silk, with polychrome floral pattern. Half-length sleeves. Two panels of fabric on the back, attached at the waist. Reinforced with sticks of whalebone (some possibly attached later). For the age: good to very good condition. The silk has no tears, but a few stains from storage and wear. In the hem area - on the back - a dark storage stripe. The bodice must have been altered a long time ago. Eyelets have been added to lace it up the front (eyelets and red string are both old). Shoes, petticoat, jewelry and lace breast insert are not included. These dresses have become very, very rare. A collector's item.
