Two piece riding habit made of black wool, ca. 1870. Front closure of the strait bodice with covered buttons. Long train for side saddle, longer on the left side and the front to hide the feet while sitting side saddle but shorter on the right side to make dismounting easier and faster. When walking the extra length was draped around the right hip and fastened at the centre back waist with a loop. Skirt and bodice are connected through buttons on the backside (inside of the bodice). The dress come together with a two coloured straw riding hat. Label inside: „Chester * Dieux Et Mon Droit“. Black velvet bow. Habit and hat are in very good condition. Some stains on the dress. They are not visibel for the camera. A few little holes on the skirt. One little rubbed of place on the bodice. One button from the bodice is missing. The sweatband from the hat need a new stitching. Riding habits from this period are very rare to find. The decoration (incl. saddle) is not included.
