Embroidered cotton gown from the Regency period, ca. 1815. White mull having long sleeve with lace edge, puffed cap decorated with silk ribbon and embroidered ruffle, V-front empire bodice with ribbons and ruffle, bodice and skirt back gathered into waistband, wide hem band having scalloped edge with embroidery. Very good condition taking in consideration the age of this dress and the delicate fabric. Flaws: A few faint spots, 1-inch tear on bodice back, tear and hole in embroidered hem. Very rare to find. The decoration (shoes and brooch) is not included.
