Antique-Gown

Even in 1888, people wanted to stand out! With this elegant jacket, this was achieved through the modern cut (for the time), but even more so through the red color of the wool. The wearer was probably able to wear this color because she was still a teenager or a very good woman. Otherwise, the color red was considered offensive. The jacket has the typical shape of jackets from the late 1880s. Small peplum; front closure with four large buttons and hooks; wide cuffs. Most striking, however, are the pom-poms that adorn the hem and the front edge of the jacket. Lined on the inside with burgundy silk. Inside pocket. In very good condition. The decoration is not included.
