Rare, polychrome printed Biedermeier dress, ca. 1847. Material: wool. Origin: France, probably Lyon. The blue and brown tones predominate in the antique dress. Other colours like black, red, green, cream are also represented. The colours look very fresh even after such a long time. Upper part laid in folds. At the waist a pleated skirt. The dress is one piece. Typical Biedermeier bell shape of the skirt. Long sleeves, which are decorated with two flounces and trimmings. Small (different) buttons on the cuffs. Inside lined with glazed cotton. Very well preserved. A repaired area in the neckline (front). Brooches were often attached here. So we draped the dress. Maybe the frequent wearing of the brooches caused a crack. Smaller cracks in the wool fabric of the dress. Minor missing parts. Very, very rare to find in this color splendour. The decoration is not included.
