Elegant two-piece bustle ball gown, ca. 1888. Made of peach-coloured silk satin. Wildflower motif. The top is laced at the front (original lacing still present). Shoulder puff sleeves made of silk organza. Asymmetrical cross drape in the chest area made of silk organza. On the back a beautiful bow made of silk satin (center back). The skirt shows typical asymmetric polonaise elements. The part that forms the "Cul" is split at the waist. Here also a tear in the fabric, but this is not noticeable in the many folds. When draping, you can see neither the separated folds nor the tear. The decoration is not included. The dress comes from the Museum of the City of New York (MCNY).
