Cinnabar silk gauze having short, puffed satin sleeve with scalloped gauze ruffles trimmed in satin rouleaux, satin waistband, full skirt decorated with bands of rouleaux and satin-trimmed gauze bows, padded hem. Macramé silk tippet with fancy tassels used as belt (original from this time). B-38, W-32, L-54. Gown attributed on FIDM inventory to Madame Hyde de Neuville, wife of the French minister. Very good condition with a few flaws: Gauze hemband has tear, mend and edgewear, few small bleached spots, tiny holes, stress to gauze in shoulder area. The decoration is not included.
