Wedding spencer made of cream-gold silk, ca. 1819. Origin: France. The spencer is closed by means of cords: in the waist area and in the neck area. Pleated collar. Beautiful shoulder appliqués decorated with corded cords. Long sleeves that end in ruffles. Cuff ties with cord and one fabric covered button each. The spencer is lined with cotton on the inside. In good condition. There is some wear and brittleness to the silk at the crease edges of the sleeves. Still: a unique garment that is over 200 years old. The decoration is not included.
