Rare cotton dress from the Empire period, ca. 1805-1810. Origin: France. The top is lined inside with coarser cotton. Cords at waist and back neckline. Small shoulder appliqués. Long sleeves that have beautiful cuffs. The skirt is pleated in the back. In the front, the skirt is attached to the top as an "apron skirt" by means of strings. Two ways of lacing are possible (see photos). Small pleats have been sewn in at the bottom of the skirt. Two small (original) buttons in the shoulder area have probably been used to attach a cape. Excellent condition. One tiny stain. One loop for the back lacing is open. The decoration is not included.
