Blue and white striped day dress, ca. 1859, origin: England. The antique dress is a two-piece consisting of a skirt and bodice. The top is short; it is closed at the front with hooks and eyelets; the buttons are for decoration only; the chest and sleeves are decorated with color-coordinated fringes. The top is lined on the inside with cream-colored cotton. The skirt is round and falls like a bell in the style of skirts from the late 1850s. In very good condition. Subtle underarm stains. The decorative buttons are somewhat worn. The decoration is not included. The bust of our antique dressmaker's dummy is a little too ample for the dress; this is why the top is slightly open in the middle.
