A very fashionable dress from the Biedermeier period, which caused a sensation around 1835. The small pleats in the gigot sleeves and the crisscrossing (and pleated) panels in the bust area were fashionable. The fabric is a fine wool weave with woven vertical and horizontal (shimmering) lines forming large squares. Printed on it are autumn leaves in a greenish-brown shade. The skirt of the antique one-piece dress falls in a slight bell shape. In the hem area: wide fabric panel. Lined with a fine white gauze. Back closure with hooks and eyes. Recess on the back for a pocket (which was probably placed in one of the many petticoats). It is a miracle that this dress, which is gauzy, is still around at all after almost 190 years. It has some old repaired areas and some imperfections in the fabric (small holes; tattered fabric), this especially in the shoulder area and on one sleeve. Thanks to the pattern and the folds, these imperfections are barely visible. The decoration is not included.
