Wow! An antique dress from the early Biedermeier period. The name is more than correct: this dress comes from Germany, around 1824, and that makes it something special. After two world wars in the 20th century and other political turmoil in the 19th century, dresses like this have rarely survived. This one has survived the years in a trunk in an attic. Material: thin cotton. Large puffed sleeves, typical of dresses from this period. Subtly tapered neckline. Collar with eyelet and white embroidery. Beautifully designed bust with vertical inserts (with white embroidery). Indicated bust cups. White and perforated embroidery is also attached to the hem of the dress. Closure at the back with strings. Belt (of recent date) with an antique belt buckle. Excellent (cleaned) condition for its age.
