Wow! An antique dress from the early Biedermeier period. The name is more than correct: this dress comes from Germany, around 1824, and that makes it something special. After two world wars in the 20th century and other political turmoil in the 19th century, dresses like this have rarely survived. This one has survived the years in a trunk in an attic. Material: thin cotton. High waist. Semi-circular neckline. Small pleated shoulders and bust. A train is indicated on the latter. There are ruffles made of eyelet embroidery on the upper arms. Beautifully designed cuffs with white embroidery. Three rows of circumferential ruffles in the hem area. An inner bodice in the chest area, which is fastened with mother-of-pearl buttons. Hook and eye fastening (possibly attached later). Belt (of recent date) with a silver belt buckle (hallmarked). For its age: excellent (cleaned) condition. One tiny flaw.
Bust: ~ 80 cm
