Elegant two piece evening or ball gown, ca. 1880. Eggshell colored silk with floral motives in red, yellow and blue. American label inside: Keily * New York. The bodice has short lace sleeves and a v-neck. Two big cream silk bows. The right side of the bodice is decorated with the same lace as used on the sleeves. The other side is ornate with purple glass stones, wire embroidery and light glass beads. This asymmetry is typical for the bustle dresses from this time. A continuation from this asymmetry we find in the skirt. On the one side is an additional lace panel. Assymetrical cuttling on the “cul”. Skirt with a large lace panal. Heavy silk underskirt. Very good condition with a few flaws: the underskirt is shattering on a few places; some moth holes; two stains on the bodice lace; some other little stains; a few seams needs a stitching. But unfortunately: a unique and very beautiful dress. The decoration is not included.
