A 1890's white corset made by Ferris Bros. The corset is made of sateen or coutil cotton with shoulder straps, or braces as they were called. The buttons down the front are offset from the front boning, which is made of watchspring. In all there are seven watchspring bones circling the garment. The corset has short side laces at the hip area and back lacing completely down the center of back. A pair of metal stocking fasteners on either side of the corset. Each are marked with Ferris Bros. Pat'd Aug 27, 1889. The shoulder straps are adjustable, allowing the strap four different settings. The Ferris Bros label and number 26 is printed inside. The label is worn enough it is difficult to read. Very good condition. Only some soiling, especially under the arms. The decoration is not included.
