Unique corset from the International Exposition from Paris 1889. The Exposition Universelle of 1889 was a world's fair held in Paris, France, from 6 May to 31 October 1889. It was held during the year of the 100th anniversary of the storming of the Bastille, an event considered symbolic of the beginning of the French Revolution. The main symbol of the Fair was the Eiffel Tower, which served as the entrance arch to the Fair (source: Wikipedia).
The corset is made of green damask fabric and rich decorated with green silk bows and lace. Three hooks on the front of the corset. The back eyelets are missing. Lacing is not possible. The corset was presented on Paris as a lying “lustfulness object”. Excellent condition. Only the lace on the front is a little bit dusty. One stain on the backside. The decoration is not included. The absolute rareness, the designs, the provenience and the condition are reflected in the price.
