If this corset came from England, it would have been worn in the Regency period. If it came from France it would be an Empire corset. However, it comes from America, which makes it even rarer and more valuable. It comes from the collection of Doris Raymond. It is made of cotton fabric. Beautifully decorated with cord applications. Eyelets made of bone, which facilitate the lacing in the back. Name of the first owner is written in ink: Charlotte Glose (or Close), No 10. Probably the corset was part of the wedding trousseau. Very, very rare. Very well preserved. One stain on the front side. Replaced laces. The decoration is not included.
