The men's evening attire included high and stiff collars, wide cuffs and starched breast inserts. Collars and cuffs were kept in such boxes. This one is from the American region, ca. 1905. The double box is covered with a plush-similar fabric, which is very typical for boxes from this time. Metal carrying handle. Metal side fasteners. Designations "Collars" and "Cuffs" on the two lids. Well preserved, with abrasion in the fabric.
