Two wonderful bed bonnets from the early 1900s. Both are hand made / hand stitched of printed silk ribbon. The prettiest floral ribbon in soft shades of pink on a cream background was chosen. Each bonnet is embellished with ercu hand crochet in different patterns. Of course, so the sisters could tell who's was who's. Elastic at the back of the bonnet adjust the fit (believe it or not, the elastic still has stretch). Loops of pink satin bows adds the final touch of embellishment. Both bonnets have never been worn. More than likely given to the sisters as gifts, then stored away. Very good condition. I only found two tiny round holes in the ribbon near one of the pink loopy bows. (See second to last photo). The one bonnet measures 20" circumference around the outside edge. The other bonnet measures 19" around. Since the back is elastic, the size would enlarge a bit. The decoration is not included.
