Very beautiful and especially very rare bag from the Empire period, ca. 1800-1815. The shape of the amphora and the very detailed and filigree workmanship indicate the period of the First Empire in France. During this period, a renaissance of Greek motifs in fashion took place. This is also the case with this extraordinary bag. The bottom of the bag is set in a metal frame, which is beautifully crafted and stands on four small legs. Two curved metal arches depart from the side, decorated with animal heads. Silk to pull and tie. This is decorated with bows and small metal flowers. The brown velvet and silk may be recent. Probably renewed around 1890. The velvet is embroidered with vines and flowers on the sides. The velvet and silk are excellently preserved, the metal parts show some greening in some places. A unique, museum piece.
