Small Biedermeier bag, dated 1826. Origin: Germany. The pouch has been in our private collection for a very long time. Printed on both sides: on one side with an antique temple, on the other side with cornucopia (with flowers). Binding cord. Tassel in the shape of an acorn at the top of the pouch. Excellent condition. With the bag is an original letter from a father to his son. Sealed at the back. The lines are written on the front of the envelope. The envelope shows clear signs of age. We translated the letter, but we couldn't read everything. A very, very rare collection from the Biedermeier period.
My dear Albert,
The present (the bag) was given to your blessed mother by our friend Eberhard as a happy reminder. I gladly dedicate it to you as a souvenir and add the small gift with love.
God bless you that you may always live your life with joyful devotion. Pray and work, fear God and keep His commandments, then, my dear Albert, you will certainly be well, which is what your honest father wishes so heartily and sincerely.
