A rare reception dress from Germany, ca. 1917. When this dress was worn, the terrible 1st World War was still raging in Europe. The glory days of the German Empire were long gone. The less than cheerful color reflects something of that time. The only ornaments are glass pins, which were also used very sparingly. The dress is very elaborately buttoned (which is still typical of the Edwardian period), but already breathes the spirit of the coming fashion. Very well preserved. Possibly missing in a few glass pins. The decoration is not included.
