Antique vest that was probably worn as a breast insert under a jacket, ca. 1904. Cultural area: America. The antique bodice is sleeveless. High collar. Black velvet ribbons, steel bead applications and cream-coloured lace are skilfully arranged. Small velvet bows on the shoulders, decorated with small buckles of steel beads. In the chest area small black cabochon stones. Lateral closure. Very well preserved. Little wear on the forearms. A few steel beads have rust on them. Strand of pearls coming loose (center back). In the area of the lateral closure a few cracks in the lace. But all this does not matter with this very nice antique garment. The decoration is not included.
